A yacht is an expensive investment and not one that should be taken lightly. This means taking care of all the maintenance, making sure everything is in good working order so the yacht can be used for the maximum amount of time and won’t cost a small fortune in repairs. Here is a short guide to yacht maintenance:
• Take care of fibreglass mouldings. Polish and wax them and whilst you are doing so, check for chips and cracks.
• Look after the deck. Check the caulking and planks to make sure everything is functioning properly and isn’t about to crack, as this could cause problems further down the line.
• Service your boat engine. This will need a thorough annual service at the very least.
• Keep your sails in good condition. Check them for tears every time you sail, as the best time to do this is whilst the sun is behind the sails.
